Just bought my last ears of sweet corn for the season at Bensons' on Monday, October 10. They said they had 2 more rows to pick and would be all done on Tuesday. They still have tomatoes and other veggies, though. Pumpkins, too. And their flower baskets are spectacular.

Thing is, you'd have no way of knowing if you'd experienced it. I'd make a post, and get no message, not that comment modification had been enabled, not that my URL in my signature was too long, nothing. Sometimes I'd find out only when I'd ask the blogger about my post, and he or she would say, "What post?"

This has happened often enough over a long enough period of time from enough different computers that I have to believe it's a longstanding Wordpress quirk.

Thanks. My one complaint about Wordpress is that it's iffy about accepting long URLs, or any URLs at all. That would be fine, except that it offers no notification to that effect. I've made any number of posts that did not appear because of this ... including, possibly, one I tried to make on your Wordpress blog. That's been the one thing that has stopped me from switching.

Peter, I'm still getting a feel for Wordpress. So far I like it, but there are some things when it comes to posting things that either I like Blogger better, or I just haven't figured Wordpress out yet. I don't have any regrets for switching at this point, that's for sure.

Reminds me of when I first started working with old newspaperss back in the mid 90's, the language and sterotypes were very much a shock to my system.

Once I got used to them and did a little research, it was easy to accpept and understand that it was simply the mores and values of that time period.

So I find it hard to get upset over the type of language and attitudes used back then.

dude, you are gay. there are many reasons why depending on the situation could call for some pistol whipping action. obviously, before attempting to do so, one trains in the art of pistol whipping so that depending on angle, height of head, etc you make a mother f&ing quick decision as to what isoptimal gunhold position for maximum impact and what the least use of force necessary to get the job done. you might not want or need a killing, you may also (hope not)run out of ammo. if that happens,you cant just sit around reloading or leave without completing your mission you make do with what you got and if you are that retarded to not have a backup weapon you finish the job with what you got whether that means your physical skill or a toothpick. its alot about knowing anatomy striking precise areas not just flailing your piece around. i bet that tactic dont get you too far in bed neither. good technique goes along way. it might even make up for your lack of generous endowment going on downstairs. by the way nobody giggles THAT much at the command of buttstroke. you probably lack skill doing that one, on the mat or on the bed.

Gee, I hate all this. We reviewed these stories in a hope to get people to read or buy the book. We tried to step in to fill the void left by vanishing newspapers. We are a step or more closer to the writers though. It is hard to criticize, but if we don't are we anything more than shills. I don't know the answer, but I like James's work immensely and I respect Ben's attempt to address what he saw as salient issues. Damn! No way to win this one.
